On December 17th 2018, a visit was organized by the Deputy Ambassador of Japan in Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Hideaki Machida, in the premises of the Center for development of the Pelagonija region. On this first visit to the Pelagonia region, the Deputy Ambassador together with the Head of the CRPRP, Mr. Gogo Vidimce, discussed the ongoing projects funded by the Japanese Embassy in the Pelagonia region and their implementation, specifically for the project: “Prevention of floods in the Pelagonia region – strengthening the regional capacities “, which was granted by the Japanese Embassy in the Republic of Macedonia to the Center for development of the Pelagonija planning region in 2017.
Within the framework of the project, a backhoe loader was purchased by CRPRP and given to the municipalities of the Pelagonija region in order to clean the drainage channels for prevention of floods. This project was rated as the most innovative project and the first of its kind in the Republic of Macedonia, evaluated as a positive story of a real regional project, where several municipalities are direct beneficiaries of one grant and the process is successfully managed by the CRPRP.
During the meeting, a field visit to Krushevo was realized where the backhoe is currently being used, on which the Deputy Ambassador made an insight as to how the awarded grant was used.
This project is the second approved grant by the Japanese Embassy to the Center for development of the Pelagonija planning region. The successful implementation of these projects represents the possibility of continuing and strengthening the cooperation of the Japanese Embassy in the Republic of Macedonia and CDPPR in the future.
