The establishment of the Regional Business Centers in the eight planning regions is based on a decision of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia at the eighth (thematic) session, held on August 29, 2011. In making the decision, comparative analyzes from GIZ-RED were used for the current situation with the services for support of the private sector in the planning regions in Macedonia. Stakeholders, and especially the private sector, see the Regional Business Centers within the Centers for Development of Planning Regions as an attempt to expand public institutions at the local level. Stakeholders are also clear and precise that new functions and services need to focus on creating an efficient and effective institutional setting at the regional planning level to support the private sector.<\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The in-depth insight into the current situation proves that the needs of the private sector at local and regional level are not fully met and at the same time as priority new services are imposed those services that will address perceived bottlenecks such as lack of proper coordination of activities supported by public resources, the effectiveness of access to information and increasing the degree of participation of the private sector in making appropriate decisions at local and regional level. Due to their strengths and the opportunities available to them, the regional business centers in the envisaged institutional form (within CRPR) are logically imposed for  the role of coordinator of the activities at regional level implemented by national institutions and organizations and their networks at local and regional level, but also to accelerate \/ facilitate the communication of national with local institutions and organizations as well as with the private sector.<\/span><\/p>\n

Regional business centers within the Centers  for development of the planning regions are naturally most suitable for inclusion in the planning and monitoring of the level of balanced economic development, especially in communication with the business sector, but also in the planning and monitoring of regional indicators for economic development and development of entrepreneurship and economic sectors.<\/p>\n

The implementation of the functions and services of the Business Centers requires a strategic and comprehensive approach and primarily a strategic definition of the mandate, scope,   role  and the competence of the Business Centers. In defining their role as key bodies at the regional level for planning, coordinating, monitoring, synchronizing activities and informing – educating for support and development of the private sector at the regional level, many strategic issues, factors and  policies, the definition of which will provide a basis for systematized sustainable regional development.<\/p>\n
